MORNING:

Start the day with a visit to the White House, the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. You can see the exterior of the building and take photos from the fence.

From the White House, take a ride or walk to the National Mall, a 2-mile-long park that stretches from the U.S. Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial. Along the way, you can see monuments and memorials dedicated to presidents, war heroes, and civil rights leaders, such as the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

AFTERNOON:

Option 1: visit some of the world-class museums of the Smithsonian Institution, which are free and open to the public. You can choose from 17 museums and galleries, depending on your interests and time. Some of the most popular ones are the National Museum of American History, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, and the National Gallery of Art. End your day with a visit to the Lincoln Memorial, one of the most iconic and inspiring landmarks in the city. You can see the statue of Abraham Lincoln, read the inccriptions of his speeched, and enjoy the views of the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument. The memorial is especially beautiful at night, when it is illuminated and less crowded.

Option 2: shopping: Visit a variety of shops and curios selling souvenirs and/or step out to visit the Malls to get the Washington test!
